TARPTAUTINIS GOLBOLO TURNYRAS/INTERNATIONAL GOALBALL TOURNAMENT

International Men Goalball Tournament for the Vytautas the Great LIONS Club Cup, is held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on July 14 – 17, 2016.

COMPETITION VENUE. Vilnius sports school “Tauras”. Address: Zygio str. 46, Vilnius, LT-08009, Lithuania.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS. Belgium, Canada, Finland, Germany, Lithuania (two hosting teams), Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine and USA.

TOURNAMENT SYSTEM. All teams are seeded into two pools. During the game, IBSA goalball rules shall apply. The tournament will be played in two stages with a round robin system. During the first stage teams will play against each other for a place in a pool. Rankings of the participating teams will be determined during the second stage of the tournament.

DETERMINATION OF WINNERS IN THE TOURNAMENT

Each team shall earn three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie, and zero (0) points for a loss.

If two or more teams have the same number of points at the end of the round robin, the teams will be separated by using the following methods in this order:

• Goal Difference – subtracting a team’s goals scored against from their goals scored in the total round robin
• Number of Wins – teams will be assessed on the number of wins in the round robin. Teams with the most wins will be given the higher ranking.
• Goals Scored – the team with the highest goals scored in the overall competition will be given the higher ranking.
• Goal Difference at Half Time – using the half time scores, subtracting a team’s goals scored against from their goals scored in the total round robin.
• Goal Difference – The same procedure shall be used again, but this time only the games in the round robin between the teams that have to be separated shall be included.

The winner of the tournament will be determined according to the IBSA rules on the third day of the tournament.
